Active Community Support Fund being established.

About the Active Community Support Fund

Founded in 1883, the Footscray Football Club / Western Bulldogs has a proud history and a well deserved reputation as the true Community Club of the AFL.

Together with the Dromana Red Hill RSL Sub branch we operate the Peninsula Club to the benefit of the community of the Mornington Peninsula and will continue to ensure that we act as an active ‘community social and welfare-focused’ organization

Our goal is therefore to actively achieve increased capacity within the community to design and deliver inclusive programs that contribute to local social development.

Keys to Success

Strategic keys to the success of this increase in capacity are:

  1. Identifying, building on and supporting existing organisational assets and strengths within the community;
  2. Identifying opportunities to foster new organisational social development initiatives within the local community
  3. Providing local organisational social development assistance in an open handed and transparent manner;
  4. Encouraging and facilitating local organisational partnerships with business & government to help maximise social development program outcomes.
  5. Valuing and supporting team social development activities and / or development of leadership programs within local organisations

Structure

The Peninsula Club Active Community Support Fund will be administered by the Peninsula Club and overseen by a Committee nominated by the Western Bulldogs which includes a member of the of the Dromana-Red Hill RSL Sub-branch committee.

Funds are set aside from the day to day operations of the Peninsula Club together with contributions from other organisations, to form the Fund.  Each year a fixed allocation of moneys will be made by the Peninsula Club and the amount will take into account the profitability and on-going sustainable viability of Club operations, its own requirements for working capital and any proposed capital works programs.
